Tebow Calls Matt: New York Jets QB Tim Tebow Phones Survivor Of Shenendehowa Crash
Tim Tebow may not be getting much playing time, but he’s still doing plenty of good off the field.
The seldom used New York Jets quarterback placed a call with Matt Hardy, a survivor of a car crash caused by a drunk driver that killed two Shenendehowa High School (a school in Clifton Park, NY) students — including Hardy’s girlfriend, Deanna Rivers — after a social media campaign got his attention. The campaign used the hashtag “#TebowCallMatt” and became a trending topic on Twitter.
Tebow sent out a Tweet late Monday night acknowledging that he and Matt had been connected.
Thanks to everyone who got #TebowCallMatt trending & helped connect us. Matt truly inspired me. God bless y’all

Hardy’s brother, Mike Hardy, sent out a Tweet of his own saying that Tebow and Matt had spoken.
TIM TEBOW JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH MATT! SUCH A CLASS ACT!!

Tebow’s call does not make the situation any less tragic, but it shows that in sports, it’s not always about being the strongest, the most talented or the highest paid — it’s about having a heart, too.
